Amanda Landers-Murphy doubled her WSA title tally yesterday after claiming the South Australian Open.   

The 21-year-old, who had finished runner up in both previous Australian events this summer, defeated the giant-killing Australian Samantha Davies who scalped No2 seed Milou Van Der Heijden and No4 seed Tamika Saxby to reach her first ever WSA World Tour final. 

Landers-Murphy, having received a bye through the first round, made short work of her second round opponent Stephanie Whighton, before dispatching Alma Kushartanti and Megan Craig in the quarters and semis. 

With neither player yet to drop a game in the event, the final was poised on a knife-edge, to see whether the New Zealand international would claim her first title of the summer or if the unfancied home hope would be in line for her maiden WSA title. 

It was Landers-Murphy who took the early advantage, after a narrow tie-break first game saw her edge a lead.  A number of errors from the Australian eased way for the world No51, who completes her South Australian Open run without dropping a game.
